Do you plan production and manage supply chains? A food business in Hamilton, New Zealand, works in the primary sector and sends most of its products to China and Southeast Asia. It needs a Production Planner and Supply Chain Officer to take charge of planning and link the factory floor with sales. February/March is the end of the deer velvet peak season, so the right person will begin working at full speed.
You will take your first step into leadership and manage one direct report. The job is full-time at 40 hours per week, and the peak season brings extra hours. The start date is as soon as possible. This role is open only to people already in New Zealand; offshore applications are not accepted. The employer holds Immigration NZ accreditation and welcomes people who need sponsorship for an Accredited Employer Work Visa and have New Zealand work experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Draw up production schedules that match capacity, cost and quality targets.
- Forecast demand and describe what operations may look like over the longer term.
- Help SAP add value by looking after master data, inventories and bills of materials.
- Coordinate the wider supply chain.
- Work with packaging suppliers and dispatch.
- Partner with QA on traceability, MPI and export market requirements.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Planning experience in a manufacturing business.
- Strong skills in forecasting.
- Hands-on ERP experience; SAP is strongly preferred, and training is available.
- Experience in food or primary industry manufacturing, and QA knowledge.
- Communicates clearly and handles customer expectations with confidence.
- Practical, resilient and flexible when deadlines move.
- Desirable: team leadership, health and safety experience, or knowledge of exporting to Asia.
- Shortlisted candidates will be subject to reference checks and a Ministry of Justice criminal record check.
