Do you have joinery or cabinetmaking skills and know CNC machines? A workshop in Wellington, New Zealand needs a CNC Operator. The team makes plywood kitchens, cabinets and furniture. It uses CNC machines and Lean methods to work well.
Your experience can be from your home country or from New Zealand. The employer wants to see real skill and a good approach to work. Eligible overseas applicants may be considered for visa sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC machines to make cabinets and furniture
- Prepare components and machine them exactly to the plans
- Put cabinets and furniture together and finish them
- Check finished work for quality and accuracy
- Find production problems and help fix them
- Keep your workmanship steady in every step of production
- Help with installation when needed
- Keep the workshop clean, tidy and efficient
- Follow production, safety and quality procedures
- Use Lean manufacturing and 3S ideas at work
- Look for better ways to work and less waste
- Work well as part of the production team
- Take responsibility for finishing your tasks to the right standard
- Learn more about CNC equipment and production systems
- Join training and continuous-improvement activities
Requirements & Eligibility
- Practical experience in joinery, cabinetmaking, CNC machining or furniture making
- Shown ability to make accurate, high-quality work
- Strong attention to detail
- Reliable and steady at work
- Good practical skills and problem-solving
- Can work with little supervision
- Ready to learn new equipment, processes and systems
- A strong sense of responsibility
- Welcomes feedback and wants to keep growing
- HOMAG, WoodWOP, IMOS or other CNC experience is an advantage
- Overseas trade experience is welcome; New Zealand trade experience is not required
- Current New Zealand manual driver's licence, and ability to drive a long-wheelbase manual van
- Ready to complete the required Lean training before a practical trial
