A vehicle rental branch in Queenstown, New Zealand, has a job open. The job title is Customer Service / Groomer. In this job it means a person who cleans rental vehicles. It does not mean a person who looks after pets.
You speak on the phone, answer questions, give advice and write quotes and contracts. The customers are business, commercial and recreational travellers. The team is small and works hard. So you help in all areas of the branch.
This is a permanent, full-time job. The roster is 40 hours per week. The branch is open 8.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday. Saturday opening ends at 1.00pm. The employer would ideally recruit suitable and available NZ workers. But it is an Accredited Employer with Immigration NZ. So the employer can consider sponsorship for candidates who require a work visa if it cannot make such an appointment.

Key Responsibilities
- Answer phones, and give sales advice and quotes
- Create contracts, complete transactions, and do office administration and customer account maintenance
- Coordinate vehicles, and deliver them or pick them up
- Keep the vehicle and rental fleet of the branch groomed to the highest standards and make sure every necessary compliance check is carried out
- Help to identify repair and maintenance issues and escalate them. Manage maintenance and damages as required
Requirements & Eligibility
- Full Class 1 Driver Licence, or an overseas equivalent, and basic to intermediate computer skills
- Previous experience in customer-facing service. Vehicle rental industry experience is ideally what the employer wants, but it is not essential
- Previous grooming experience. This is preferred but not essential
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, and a confident phone manner
- Great attention to detail, and excellent time management skills
