An FMCG business in Sydney is hiring an Account Manager. FMCG means fast-moving consumer goods, such as everyday products sold in shops. The job is hybrid. The business wants a person who understands retail, likes working with independent customers and wants to grow sales.
You will do more than manage current accounts. You will look for new chances, grow the accounts you have and help the business grow. You will have real ownership of your work. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a group of independent customers and key accounts.
- Build long-term, strong relationships with those customers.
- Find ways to sell more and to grow the accounts you already have.
- Find and develop new business.
- Talk with customers to understand what they need and where the business can grow.
- Watch how sales are going.
- Reach the sales targets you agree.
- Pass on what you learn about the market and customers to the wider business.
- Represent the brand in a professional way.
- Own your territory and drive results.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Commercially hungry and ambitious
- Proactive
- Experience in FMCG, retail, wholesale, field sales or a related environment
- A clear understanding of retail and independent customers
- Proven experience in account management, sales or business development
- A commercial mindset that focuses on growing sales
- Excellent skills in building relationships
- Excellent communication skills
- The confidence to see opportunities and turn them into results
- A proactive and hands-on style
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills, and the ambition to take the next step in your career
