Do you love working with young children? This Early Childhood Educator job is in Perth. The centre cares about child safety, good relationships with families and strong teaching.

You will plan play-based activities and watch how children learn. You will write short notes about their progress. You will work with Room Leaders and other educators in a friendly team.

Sponsorship is available for suitable and eligible candidates, subject to applicable requirements and successful completion of probation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Care for children in a warm way that supports their learning and wellbeing
  • Build trust with children, families and other educators
  • Help with play-based programs and daily learning activities
  • Support the curriculum, following EYLF V2.0 and/or MTOP
  • Notice each child's interests, strengths and development needs, and respond to them
  • Watch, record and think about each child's learning and progress
  • Help children feel confident, independent and part of the group
  • Keep learning spaces interesting, inclusive and tidy
  • Work well with Room Leaders and the education team
  • Talk politely and professionally with families and colleagues
  • Keep children safe with good supervision, health and hygiene
  • Follow the laws, rules, policies and service procedures
  • Join quality improvement work, and help build a workplace culture of respect, responsibility and teamwork

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, or an equivalent ACECQA-approved qualification
  • Relevant experience in early childhood education
  • A current Working with Children Check
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Current Anaphylaxis and Emergency Asthma Management training
  • Relevant child protection and national child safety training
  • Knowledge of EYLF V2.0 and/or MTOP
  • Knowledge of Australian early childhood education laws and regulations
  • Strong spoken and written communication
  • A professional and responsible attitude to children's safety and wellbeing
  • Able to build good relationships with children and families
  • Able to work well as part of a team
  • Commitment to professional standards and continuous improvement, and willingness to complete all required employment, compliance and suitability checks
