Are you kind, patient and ready to learn? An early learning provider in Queensland has 12 full-time jobs for Childcare Workers in Cairns. You will help children learn through play, keep them safe and build warm links with their families. The educators work together as a team, so you will never be alone.

This is a good start if you are studying or have finished a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. People with a Diploma are welcome too.

Key Responsibilities

  • Care for, guide and supervise children aged 0–6 years
  • Make a safe, caring and interesting place where each child feels valued
  • Help children grow in curiosity, confidence, independence and social skills
  • Help plan and run learning activities that suit each age
  • Support programs based on the Early Years Learning Framework
  • Watch children's progress, and help with learning documentation, portfolios, electronic programming and developmental records
  • Build respectful relationships with children and their families
  • Talk often and politely with parents, guardians and co-workers
  • Work with other educators to give steady, high-quality care
  • Share ideas and activities that help children take part and learn
  • Support each child's needs, interests and learning goals
  • Keep the centre positive and welcoming for everyone
  • Follow centre policies, child safety rules and legal requirements, and work to the National Quality Framework and National Quality Standards
  • Take part in training, professional development and team activities

Requirements & Eligibility

  • You are studying for, or already have, a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
  • Candidates with a Diploma are also encouraged to apply
  • A real love for caring for and teaching young children

  • Strong communication and people skills

  • Knowledge of the EYLF, NQF, National Regulations and National Quality Standards
  • You are comfortable with computers and electronic documents
  • A current Queensland Blue Card, or you can get one
  • First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis training, or you are ready to get the needed certificates
  • Overseas applicants must meet the qualification and ACECQA assessment rules that apply
  • English language skills that fit the visa pathway, and you can meet the Australian visa and sponsorship conditions that apply
