Key Responsibilities
- Weld steel trailer frames with a MIG welder
- Weld the chassis and other trailer parts
- Prepare, place and assemble fabricated trailer sections
- Read drawings, welding specifications and measurements before the work starts
- Fit the chassis, suspension, brakes and other trailer parts
- Install air, electrical and hydraulic systems when needed
- Add extra accessories and custom trailer features
- Use welding machines, hand tools and measuring equipment in the right way
- Check the weld strength, the size and the quality of the finished trailer
- Test installed systems before the job is complete
- Report materials, parts or work that do not meet the standard
- Keep the workshop safe and organised
- Work with the production team so work keeps moving
- Finish every job to the required quality, safety and production standards
Requirements & Eligibility
- At least 2 years of practical welding experience
- Trailer assembly or trailer manufacturing experience from before
- Strong MIG welding capability on steel
- You can read and follow blueprints and technical drawings
- You use measuring equipment and workshop tools well
- Hands-on understanding of trailer chassis, suspension and braking components
- Experience with air, hydraulic or electrical trailer systems is advantageous
- You can show real hands-on trade experience
- Strong attention to detail and steady workmanship
- Reliable attendance
- Reliable on production responsibilities
- Safety-conscious attitude in a manufacturing environment
- Welding certification is advantageous but not essential
