Do you enjoy serving guests in a busy restaurant? A restaurant in Newcastle, New South Wales is looking for Waitstaff. The place is full of customers, so good teamwork is important.
You will take orders, serve food and drinks and keep the tables neat. You will also use a POS system, which is the computer system for orders and payments.
The employer says sponsorship is available for suitable overseas candidates. This is subject to the usual requirements and eligibility, and skills, experience and visa rules must be met.

Key Responsibilities
- Give every guest a friendly and professional welcome
- Serve food and drinks quickly in busy periods
- Take correct orders and tell the kitchen and bar clearly
- Look after the tables and sections given to you
- Bring meals and drinks to the table in good time, and help run food and drinks when the restaurant is very busy
- Carry many plates in a safe way
- Set tables before service, then clear and reset them between sittings
- Use the POS system for orders and payments
- Help guests choose from the menu and drinks list, using your food, wine and drink knowledge to make the meal better
- Work with the kitchen, bar and front-of-house team
- Keep the dining area clean and neat
- Handle customer requests politely, and tell a senior person when there is a problem
- Follow rules for responsible service, safety and hygiene
- Support a friendly and strong team
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven experience as restaurant waitstaff or in food and beverage service
- A hospitality qualification, or the same level of industry experience
- Can work well in a busy, high-volume restaurant
- A strong wish to give good customer service, with excellent verbal communication and people skills
- Fluent English communication
- Can handle many tables and sittings with confidence
- Able to carry three plates safely
- Current RSA Certificate
- Used computerised POS systems before
- Wine and beverage knowledge will be highly regarded
- Neat grooming and professional presentation
- Reliable, honest and well-spoken, with close attention to detail and calm under pressure
- Flexible availability on weekdays, evenings and weekends
- Happy to be part of a professional team
