This full-time Truck Mechanic job is in Brisbane, Queensland. You will work on heavy vehicles. The work includes finding faults, servicing, repairs, rebuilds and help for broken-down trucks.

Key Responsibilities
- Find faults in heavy commercial vehicles and their systems
- Do routine servicing and preventative maintenance
- Complete mechanical repairs, replace components and do rebuilds
- Work to the manufacturer's specifications
- Test and inspect vehicles after repairs
- Solve mechanical problems quickly and well
- Fill in job cards and workshop records correctly
- Go to breakdowns at customer sites or other locations when needed
- Join the workshop on-call roster
- Keep safety, workmanship and technical accuracy at a high level
- Work well with other technicians and workshop staff, and help with the practical training of apprentices
- Speak to customers politely about finished work
Requirements & Eligibility
- Recognised Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or relevant mechanical qualification
- Proven practical experience in heavy vehicle repair and maintenance
- Can show and verify your past trade experience, and give documents for your qualifications and employment history
- Strong mechanical diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Good understanding of workshop safety and quality procedures
- Reliable and team-focused
- Professional communication and customer service skills
- Current car licence
- HR licence is desirable
- Forklift licence is desirable
- Kenworth or DAF experience is desirable
- Experienced overseas heavy vehicle mechanics are encouraged to apply
- Interstate heavy vehicle mechanics are welcome to apply
- Second to fourth year mechanic apprentices may also be considered
- Willing to do ongoing technical and manufacturer training
