This Support Worker job in Tauranga is a good fit for a kind, responsible person. You will help one client every day. The work includes personal care, daily routines, travel, work tasks and family time. You will be part of a 24/7 team.
The shifts can be in the day, afternoon, evening or overnight. The ad says overseas applicants requiring employer-supported work visas may be considered for sponsorship (help with a work visa), subject to eligibility.

Key Responsibilities
- Help the client with personal care and daily living
- Keep the client's routines and schedules on track
- Give practical help during daily activities
- Work as an important member of a 24/7 support team
- Help the client with work and professional tasks
- Drive the client and go with them to activities and appointments
- Support family activities and plans
- Be a friendly companion and encourage positive social time
- Follow each care plan and agreed support steps
- Keep professional boundaries and speak with respect
- Share important information clearly with the team
- Respond well when needs or situations change
- Use initiative to find simple, practical answers
- Help during travel when needed
- Work rostered day, afternoon, evening and overnight shifts, and sleepovers when needed
- Join training for the role
- Come to work on time and give steady support
- Help to keep a safe, positive and respectful home
Requirements & Eligibility
- Experience in disability support, healthcare, personal care or community support is preferred
- Minimum NZQA Health and Wellbeing Level 3, or you are ready to study for it
- A valid driver's licence is essential
- You are reliable, professional, honest and trustworthy
- Strong communication and people skills
- A positive, friendly personality
- Good common sense and sound judgement
- You stay calm when things change
- Strong personal accountability
- You work well in a 24/7 team
- You follow care plans, routines and instructions correctly
- You are ready to be hands-on
- You are flexible about changing schedules and support needs
- Can work day, afternoon and evening shifts
- Can work overnight sleepover shifts
- Can work at least two weekend shifts each month
- Can work approximately 35 hours per week
- Can work approximately 2–4 rostered shifts per week
- Ready to do training and build support skills
- You respect the client's independence, privacy and priorities
