A stone business in Sydney is looking for an experienced Stonemason / Stone Fabricator. The team turns natural and engineered stone into kitchen benchtops and other products. All of the work is 100% wet-processing with water-fed machines. The business wants careful, high-quality work.
The job is full-time, permanent and long-term. You can start immediately. Work runs from 7:30am to 5:00pm Monday to Thursday, and 7:30am to 4:00pm on Friday. Suitably qualified and experienced international candidates who meet Australian immigration requirements may find employer-sponsored visa opportunities, and overseas applicants are welcome. Key Responsibilities
- Turn natural and manufactured stone into kitchen benchtops and other products
- Cut, shape, polish and finish stone
- Laminate stone and mitre the edges
- Make mitred joins and edges of high quality
- Read plans, drawings and measurements
- Work accurately and quickly in a busy production area, with attention to detail
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and company systems
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated experience in stonemasonry and stone fabrication
- Worked with both natural and manufactured stone
- Confident when you laminate, mitre, polish and finish
- Able to read and understand plans and drawings
- Always produces high-quality finishes
- Able to work alone or in a team
- Strong attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
- Reliable and hardworking, and able to work well in a fast-paced environment, with the physical ability to do the role
- Current driver's licence
- Holds or is willing to obtain a White Card
- Desirable: forklift licence (advantageous but not essential)
- Preferred: 3+ years' relevant industry experience, though applications from suitably skilled candidates with less experience will also be considered
