Key Responsibilities
- Be responsible for engineering on structural concrete and civil infrastructure projects
- Talk with project managers, supervisors and crews about what engineering the site needs
- Use the project quality assurance steps and ITP requirements
- Handle inspection requests, hold points, witness points and quality records
- Prepare lot documents, conformance records and handover documents
- Find non-conformances, write them down and help fix them
- Read through construction drawings, structural details, specifications and project needs
- Raise RFIs and handle technical queries with clients, consultants and contractors
- Give engineering help during reinforcement, formwork and concrete work
- Help with site setout and check the construction work
- Check that reinforcement is installed to the approved drawings and specifications
- Compare progress with the project program and report possible delays
- Organise the materials, plant and supplies needed for planned work
- Join site inspections, coordination meetings and progress reviews
- Give technical help to site supervisors and construction teams
- Keep engineering, quality and project records correct
- Help with site safety and environmental rules
- Work well with head contractors, subcontractors and other stakeholders
- Help the project team reach quality, program and delivery goals, and suggest improvements
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of Australian Site Engineer experience on structural concrete or civil infrastructure projects
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a Structural Engineering-related discipline
- Demonstrated understanding of construction engineering and delivery on site
- Strong knowledge of QA systems, ITPs, inspections and construction documentation
- Able to read and understand structural drawings and technical specifications
- Experience managing RFIs, technical queries and non-conformance processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good organisational and documentation skills
- White Card
- Current driver's licence
- Able to get the required ACT site inductions and project access clearances
- Able to work well on active construction sites
- Professional and reliable, and good at working with teams and stakeholders
- Wants to learn and grow in the profession
- Bridge construction experience is highly regarded
- Experience with dams, spillways or water infrastructure is highly regarded
- Experience working with Tier 1 or Tier 2 head contractors is highly regarded
- Experience in reinforcement scheduling, procurement, fixing supervision and quality control is highly regarded
