Do you work on roofs? This Roofer job is in Hamilton, New Zealand. The team installs roofing and cladding on large commercial projects.
You will measure and cut materials, fit sheets and flashings, and read drawings. Safety is very important on every site. Skilled roofers are welcome, and construction workers with useful skills may also be considered.

Key Responsibilities
- Install commercial roofing and do related construction work
- Fit roofing materials correctly, following project requirements
- Measure and cut materials for roof openings, vents, corners, ridges and other places
- Put on and fix edge flashings and ridge flashings
- Place waterproof sheets and roofing underlay in the right position
- Fix the underlay with the right fixing methods
- Line up the starter sheets before you install
- Fasten roofing sheets firmly and keep the overlaps correct
- Read drawings, specifications and site requirements
- Decide which materials you need from the drawings and the site
- Work with modern roofing, cladding and architectural systems
- Keep the same good standard of work and finish
- Check finished work and fix installation problems when needed
- Look for hazards and follow workplace and site safety rules
- Use roofing tools, equipment and materials safely
- Work well with supervisors and other construction workers
- Travel to project places when required
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven roofing experience is preferred
- Commercial roofing or cladding experience is highly regarded
- Construction experience with transferable trade skills may be considered
- Able to measure, cut and install roofing materials accurately
- Able to read construction drawings and specifications
- Practical understanding of safety on construction sites
- Strong attention to detail and a focus on quality
- Good practical and problem-solving skills
- Able to work well in a team
- A reliable and committed attitude to the job
- Physically able to do roofing and construction work
- Willingness to learn new roofing and cladding techniques, and to travel between project sites when required
- Overseas applicants must satisfy applicable New Zealand employment and immigration requirements
