This is a full-time Registered Nurse job for Vietnamese nurses and nurses from any country. The workplace is an aged care home. Aged care means care for older people. It is in regional New South Wales, near Wagga Wagga. The organisation is not-for-profit. The local community owns it. It has cared for older people for 40 years.

On your shift, you lead the nursing care. Your manager is the Deputy Director of Nursing. You help the care staff. Aged care experience is very useful. Nurses from other clinical areas can apply too.

There are employer sponsorship opportunities for suitably qualified international candidates. This means the employer supports your work visa. It depends on eligibility, professional registration, migration requirements and approval by the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Care for each resident in the way they need and like
  • Plan and organise the nursing care
  • Do clinical assessments
  • Write care plans and check the results for residents
  • Give medicines, including Schedule 8 medicines, by the law and the home's procedures
  • Look after wounds
  • Check residents' health often and tell senior staff about changes
  • Lead Enrolled Nurses and care staff, help them and give them tasks
  • Keep correct clinical records and help with AN-ACC assessments when needed
  • Take part in incident management, infection prevention and quality improvement
  • Talk with residents, families, doctors and allied health workers, and help the home follow the strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards and professional nursing requirements

Requirements & Eligibility

  • A Bachelor of Nursing or recognised equivalent qualification
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Strong skills in clinical assessment
  • Strong skills in medication management and care planning
  • Excellent skills in communication and teamwork
  • Strong leadership skills
  • You can work by yourself, put clinical tasks in order and change your plan when residents' needs change
  • You understand aged care quality, safety and clinical governance requirements, and you respect residents' dignity, choice and independence
  • You can pass the aged care worker screening requirements
