Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate engineering work on large civil construction projects
- Help the Project Manager deliver projects safely and on time
- Check that construction follows approved drawings, specifications, budgets and project needs
- Write and update project plans, programs and construction schedules
- Give technical and engineering advice to project teams and site staff
- Study civil, structural and services drawings
- Find technical issues and manage technical queries until they are solved
- Help choose and appoint subcontractors and suppliers
- Watch the performance, costs and deliverables of subcontractors and suppliers
- Coordinate the order of construction so work matches approved programs
- Check quality requirements and quality control steps
- Help manage project costs and budgets
- Prepare monthly financial reports and cost-to-complete forecasts
- Find project risks, construction problems and possible delays
- Work with project managers, supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers and other stakeholders, and keep safety standards strong in all project work
Requirements & Eligibility
- Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 7 years' engineering experience in civil infrastructure or construction
- Demonstrated experience helping to deliver major civil projects
- Strong understanding of civil construction methodologies
- Can read civil, structural and services drawings with confidence
- Experience managing technical queries and solving engineering problems
- Sound knowledge of construction planning, scheduling and sequencing
- Experience managing subcontractor and supplier budgets
- Understanding of quality assurance and quality control systems
- Strong commercial and project management awareness, and excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety
- Able to work a 2/1 DIDO/BIBO roster
- Relevant Australian work rights or eligibility for employer sponsorship
