Key Responsibilities
- Find faults on heavy mobile equipment
- Look into equipment performance problems and decide what to do to fix them
- Give specialist technical advice to site maintenance staff
- Inspect equipment and find possible reliability concerns
- Help plan and carry out preventative maintenance
- Help replace components and do planned maintenance
- Give technical help with warranty matters
- Do fault-finding so equipment is stopped for less time
- Check equipment condition and suggest maintenance improvements
- Give technical ideas for fleet optimisation work
- Find ways to improve reliability, availability and operating efficiency, and take part in continuous improvement projects at customer operations
- Give hands-on technical help when operations need it
- Keep clear and correct service and technical records
- Help with technical training and passing on knowledge
- Build good working relationships with customers and site teams
- Follow site safety rules, procedures and environmental standards, and work well on FIFO rosters and long shifts
Requirements & Eligibility
- Recognised Mobile Plant Trade Certificate or equivalent international qualification
- Demonstrated experience in maintaining heavy mobile plant equipment
- Previous experience in mining, field service or large-scale equipment maintenance
- Strong practical experience with the machinery brand used on site is highly regarded
- Advanced diagnostic and fault-finding ability
- Can analyse equipment problems and suggest effective solutions
- Sound knowledge of preventative maintenance and equipment reliability principles
- Can combine technical advisory work with hands-on work
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and professional with customers and stakeholders
- Can work alone and also as part of a maintenance team
- Willingness to work FIFO rosters and 12-hour shifts
- Commitment to safety and compliance in remote mining environments
- High-risk work licences such as Forklift, EWP, Dogging, Rigging or Working at Heights advantageous
