Do you enjoy making electronic products better? An Auckland company needs a Product Engineer for NPI, which means new product introduction. NPI is the work of moving a new product from a first sample to full production.
You will team up with engineers, quality staff, buyers and factory teams. You will improve processes, solve quality problems and support the production line. The job is full-time, and employer sponsorship is available for eligible international candidates. Some international travel is part of the work.

Key Responsibilities
- Take a new product from its first sample to full production
- Work with the engineers, quality staff, buyers and factory teams on each new product
- Build and test the processes used to make electronic and mechanical products, and keep improving them
- Help look after test systems, fixtures and production equipment
- Find out why manufacturing, test or quality problems happen, using structured root cause analysis
- Take corrective and preventive action so products are more reliable
- Study production data to find ways to work faster, make better products and spend less
- Help with lean manufacturing and other improvement projects
- Write and update engineering documents, build procedures, test plans and engineering change documents
- Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners so production is ready
- Give technical help during production
- Join sustaining engineering work
- Travel overseas sometimes when the job needs it
Requirements & Eligibility
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, or in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electronics and mechanical manufacturing
- Good understanding of NPI (new product introduction) and manufacturing readiness
- Experience developing, supporting or fixing problems with manufacturing test fixtures and production equipment
- Knowledge of electronics manufacturing, assembly, quality systems and inventory management
- Can study manufacturing processes and make them more productive and better in quality
- Experience with PCB assembly manufacturing and electronic production testing is highly desirable
- Knowing engineering documentation or product lifecycle management systems is advantageous
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional teamwork, with professional English
- Willing to travel internationally on an occasional basis
