Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full broiler cycle, from placement to collection
- Lead the farm team and coordinate daily production work
- Make staff rosters and give out responsibilities well
- Watch bird health, welfare, growth and flock results
- Manage feeding, watering, ventilation and the environment in the sheds
- Check production results and act when something is wrong
- Keep strong biosecurity on the farm
- Follow animal welfare and workplace health and safety standards every day
- Coordinate shed preparation, cleaning and turnaround
- Oversee maintenance of feeding, drinking, ventilation and generator systems
- Find equipment and operation problems and arrange maintenance
- Keep correct farm, production and compliance records
- Use farm management systems and production data to check performance
- Work with vets, technical specialists and processor representatives
- Send clear updates and performance reports to senior management
- Take part in after-hours and on-call duties and support improvement on the farm
Requirements & Eligibility
- Experience with commercial broiler poultry
- Past experience as a Poultry Farm Manager or an experienced 2IC
- You can supervise and lead a farm team
- Good practical understanding of poultry production and flock management
- Knowledge of ventilation and climate-control systems
- You understand poultry biosecurity and welfare needs
- You can read production data and make practical decisions
- Good communication, organisation and record-keeping, and you can use computers and farm management systems
- You stay calm and reliable when problems come
- Current driver's licence
- You are willing to live on site
- You can join an after-hours and on-call roster
