Key Responsibilities

  • Check damaged vehicles and job sheets before work starts
  • Check that new parts are correct and have no faults
  • Take off damaged panels, frames and other vehicle parts
  • Repair, replace and fit panels and structural parts
  • Cut, shape, straighten and weld metal
  • Do fabrication and repair work with the right workshop tools
  • Help with rust treatment and frame alignment where needed
  • Put on body filler, then sand and prepare the surface
  • Take vehicles apart and put them back together as the repair plan says
  • Make sure the finished work meets quality and industry standards
  • Handle customer and company vehicles with care
  • Keep tools safe, clean and working, and keep the work area tidy
  • Follow all health and safety rules, including PPE
  • Work well with the team and keep learning new repair methods

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Panel Beater trade qualification that is recognised, or similar industry experience
  • Real experience in panel beating and smash repairs on cars
  • You can show and prove your work experience and professional identity
  • Good knowledge of body repair and how to replace panels
  • Practical experience in metal shaping, cutting, welding and fabrication
  • You understand structural repair, frame alignment and rust treatment
  • You have used body filler and know sanding and surface preparation
  • You can take vehicle parts off and fit them back correctly
  • You care about small details and good-quality work
  • You use tools and workshop equipment safely
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • You are reliable, motivated and professional
  • You follow workplace safety and OH&S rules, and you are happy to join the employer's candidate verification and assessment process
