Are you an experienced panel beater? A vehicle repair business in Dunedin, New Zealand, needs a Panel Beater / Repair Technician. You will repair many kinds of vehicles. This includes structural and prestige work.

This job is open to applicants who are already in New Zealand and hold residency or a valid work visa. Sponsorship is available for the right candidate. Careful, detail-minded technicians are a good match for this workshop.

Key Responsibilities

  • Do collision and panel repairs accurately and professionally
  • Check what each repair needs before you start
  • Try replacement parts in place to make sure they fit
  • Report parts that are missing, wrong or extra
  • Read job sheets and understand the repair process
  • Follow approved repair procedures and workplace instructions
  • Ask management when you need more repair guidance
  • Finish every assigned repair before the vehicle goes to painting
  • Keep removed parts identified and stored neatly, labelled with the job number
  • Prepare repaired parts for the Paint Department
  • Do final checks as the vehicle is put back together, including headlight position and other adjustments
  • Inspect finished repairs for quality and safety, and sign off the work after the quality checks
  • Keep work moving well and meet the repair standards expected

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Trade Certificate at an equivalent Level 3 or Level 4 standard, or at least 3 years of relevant technician experience
  • Hands-on experience in panel beating or vehicle repair
  • Can read job sheets and follow repair procedures
  • Can do technical work without constant supervision
  • Strong focus on repair quality, safety and accuracy
  • Can work well with others in a workshop team
  • Full clean driving licence
  • Good communication and organisation, with high attention to detail
  • Current New Zealand residency or a valid applicable work visa
  • Commitment to ongoing technical training and professional development
