This is a full-time Motorcycle Mechanic job in Brisbane, Queensland, at a motorcycle dealership. You will check bikes, find faults, service them and repair them. After a repair, you test the motorcycle to make sure it works well.

Key Responsibilities

  • Find mechanical and electrical faults with the right testing and diagnostic tools
  • Check motorcycles for faults, wear and needed maintenance
  • Do servicing and preventative maintenance as the manufacturer requires
  • Take apart, check and reassemble motorcycle engines and mechanical parts
  • Repair or replace broken or worn parts
  • Service and repair brakes, suspension, steering and transmission
  • Do engine servicing, oil changes, lubrication and tune-ups
  • Use technical manuals and manufacturer steps for repairs
  • Test and adjust after repairs to confirm the motorcycle performs well
  • Explain repair needs and technical information to others
  • Keep clear records of repairs, servicing and parts used
  • Keep the workshop organised and safe, and help with urgent repairs and breakdowns when needed

Requirements & Eligibility

  • A relevant Motorcycle Mechanical Technology qualification or equivalent trade qualification
  • Minimum two years of relevant industry experience
  • Real hands-on experience servicing and repairing motorcycles
  • Strong skill in finding and fixing mechanical faults
  • Knowledge of motorcycle engine, electrical, braking, suspension, steering and transmission systems
  • Can operate motorcycle diagnostic and workshop equipment
  • Can understand and follow technical manuals and manufacturer specifications
  • A clear commitment to accurate, quality work
  • Can give evidence of your relevant qualifications and employment experience
  • A strong understanding of workshop safety procedures
  • Can work well on your own
  • Can work well in a professional team
