Key Responsibilities
- Find vehicle faults, and test and inspect to confirm them
- Repair engines, transmissions, steering and brakes
- Do wheel alignment and air-conditioning repairs and servicing
- Do regular servicing and preventative maintenance by the service specifications
- Inspect and repair vehicles that were in accidents or need restoration
- Check that vehicles are roadworthy, safe and follow state rules
- Inspect mechanical and electronic parts, and find broken or worn ones
- Keep clear records of inspections, servicing, repairs and maintenance
- Work with the vehicle operations team so vehicles are ready for customer bookings
- Find the spare parts you need and help keep the workshop stock in order
- Tell management about technical findings, repairs needed and estimated costs
- Keep the workshop clean, tidy and safe, as WorkSafe requires
- Do quality work every day with attention to detail, alone or with the wider team
Requirements & Eligibility
- Recognised trade qualification in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience as a Motor Mechanic
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with vehicle diagnosis, servicing and repairs
- Able to inspect and diagnose mechanical and electronic vehicle systems
- Current driver's licence
- Strong spoken and written English communication skills
- IELTS Band 6 or above preferred
- Able to explain technical problems, repair options and estimated costs in a clear way
- Strong analytical and diagnostic skills, with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Good organisation and time-management
- High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Can work well alone and in a team
- Committed to workplace safety and keeping vehicles roadworthy
