Do you like fixing machines of all kinds? This Mechanic job is in Perth, Western Australia. The work is with fleet vehicles and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) used in aviation. Each day brings a different type of repair. You will use your mechanical, diesel and hydraulic skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Take care of fleet vehicles and special mechanical machines: service them, inspect them and keep them in good shape
- Do mechanical repairs after you have found the exact fault
- Find and solve problems in mechanical, diesel and hydraulic systems
- Complete planned preventative maintenance and repairs
- Go to breakdowns and respond to urgent maintenance needs
- Work with Ground Support Equipment and other specialised fleet machines
- Check the condition of equipment and spot possible mechanical problems
- Finish repairs to the required safety and quality standards
- Keep clear and correct service and maintenance records, and report finished work, faults and extra repairs
- Work alone and still keep in touch with the team, and help co-workers during breakdowns and repairs
- Keep tools and equipment safe and ready for use
- Follow workplace, operational and aviation safety procedures, and be professional with clients and site staff
Requirements & Eligibility
- Qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic or Heavy Diesel Mechanic
- Approximately 5 years or more of relevant industry experience preferred
- Demonstrated hands-on mechanical experience with light or heavy vehicles
- Experience with heavy equipment or fleet maintenance advantageous
- Current HR Driver’s Licence
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Able to show genuine practical trade experience
- Reliable and professional about work, and able to work alone and in a team
- Strong attention to safety and quality
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Able to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
- Able to successfully complete drug and alcohol screening
- Diesel mechanical experience advantageous; hydraulic systems experience advantageous
- Breakdown maintenance experience advantageous; welding skills advantageous
- Ground Support Equipment or aviation-sector experience advantageous
- Able to work in a specialised, safety-critical operating environment
