This Management Accountant job is with a construction business in New South Wales, Australia, and the office is in Sydney. You will report to the CFO. You will help the finance team with reports, budgets and forecasts, with daily cash, and with the finance systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Be responsible for month-end accounts and reconciliations
- Keep the general ledger and all financial records correct
- Make the monthly P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reports
- Look at the results and give managers clear, useful information
- Help prepare the yearly budget and update forecasts during the year
- Help plan overheads and follow financial performance
- Watch daily cash movement and support cash flow forecasts
- Write financial analysis and reports when management asks
- Look for easy ways to make finance processes and reports more accurate
- Keep financial data trusted across accounting systems and their links, and help the finance systems run well
- Work closely with the CFO and finance team on business and project work
- Work with operations teams in a busy construction setting
Requirements & Eligibility
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
- You are CA or CPA qualified, or you are progressing towards that qualification
- A good base in accounting principles and financial reporting
- Practical experience of month-end accounting procedures
- Experience of management reporting, budgeting or forecasting
- Strong Excel and financial systems skills
- Able to study financial information and find problems or chances to improve
- Careful with accuracy and financial detail
- Clear communication and professional stakeholder management skills
- Happy to work with both finance and non-finance teams
- Construction or project-based accounting experience is advantageous, and Jobpac experience is also advantageous
- Strong candidates from Big 4 or mid-tier audit or Business Services backgrounds are encouraged to apply
- Candidates with approximately 6–12 months or more of commercial accounting experience may be considered
