A factory in Toowoomba, Queensland, wants Maintenance Fitters and Electrical Fitter Mechanics. You will keep automated machines working every day. You will fix breakdowns, do planned maintenance and help stop the same faults from coming back.

Key Responsibilities
- Fix mechanical faults and breakdowns on factory machines
- Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance and routine service work
- Check production equipment and spot problems early
- Repair, change and look after mechanical parts
- Troubleshoot automated and electrical production equipment
- Find electrical faults and bring machines back into working order
- Work on PLC-controlled equipment and automated production lines
- Use VSDs and related electrical control equipment where needed
- Look into repeat failures and help machines run more reliably
- Help with planned shutdowns and maintenance projects
- Work with production teams to keep downtime low
- Keep manufacturing equipment running in a safe, efficient way
- Follow workplace health, electrical, food safety and quality procedures, and take part in continuous improvement in the maintenance team
Requirements & Eligibility
- Recognised trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or Fitter & Turner
- Certificate III Electrical or Electrical Fitter Mechanic qualification if you apply for an electrical position
- Experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance
- Minimum 5 years' industrial electrical experience if you apply as an electrical applicant
- Strong practical skills in fault-finding and diagnostics
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs
- Experience maintaining automated production machinery
- Allen Bradley or Siemens PLC experience preferred
- VSD experience for electrical applicants
- Current unrestricted Class C driver's licence
- High Risk Electrical Work Licence desirable
- MEX or similar maintenance management system experience desirable
- Strong commitment to safety
- Strong commitment to quality workmanship
- Clear communication with production and maintenance teams
- Able to work independently and still contribute effectively to a team
- Availability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including days, nights and weekends
