Key Responsibilities
- Lead cabinetmakers and apprentices, and support them
- Organise workshop production and the work of each day
- Make and assemble cabinets and joinery
- Check the work, the measurements and the finished products
- Read drawings, plans and specifications
- Use workshop machines and equipment
- Give technical advice to team members
- Watch the quality and speed of production
- Help fix problems in production
- Join installation work when it is needed
- Keep the workshop safe and tidy, and help the team reach deadlines and quality targets
Requirements & Eligibility
- Trade-qualified Cabinetmaker with Certificate III or equivalent
- Strong professional cabinetmaking and joinery experience
- Hands-on technical skill that you can show
- Previous Leading Hand or supervisory experience preferred
- Can lead and support a small team
- Good understanding of how a workshop produces its work
- Can read plans and technical drawings
- Good communication and organisation, plus strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Reliable and careful about safety
- Relevant experience must be supported by appropriate qualifications and employment history
