Perth has a full-time job for a Blaster Painter. The company is a growing industrial coatings business in Western Australia. It needs a tradesperson who really has hands-on skill. You will blast surfaces, prepare them well and apply protective coatings. Good preparation is the key to a good finish, and safe, careful work matters every day.

Key Responsibilities
- Do abrasive blasting on industrial products and different surfaces
- Get surfaces ready to the required specifications before coating, and check that they are suitable
- Apply epoxy, urethane and other protective coating systems
- Set up and operate blast pots, compressors, spray equipment and tools correctly
- Watch the coating work so that coverage and finish stay even
- Find problems with surfaces, coatings or equipment and report them
- Clean, look after and inspect blasting and coating equipment
- Finish your work to quality standards and on time, with steady work habits on each project
- Follow safety procedures, industry requirements and Australian Standards
- Work well with supervisors and other tradespeople
- Keep the work area clean, tidy and safe
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 2 years’ genuine hands-on experience in abrasive blasting
- Proven industrial blasting and protective coating work
- You can prepare surfaces to a good standard
- Practical experience in applying industrial protective coatings
- A strong understanding of blasting, preparation and coating processes
- You can show and prove your trade experience
- Attention to detail and pride in your work
- A steady commitment to workplace health and safety
- A reliable work ethic and professional manner
- You can work alone and also help the team
- You are physically fit for demanding industrial work
- A Certificate III in Surface Preparation and Coating Application is highly regarded
- AMPP/NACE or other recognised protective coatings qualifications are highly regarded
- A Forklift licence and a White Card are highly regarded
- Applicants must meet the relevant employment and compliance requirements
