Key Responsibilities
- Talk with clients and understand what they need for their hair
- Suggest hair care routines and professional products
- Cut hair precisely with scissors, thinning scissors and clippers
- Give men's haircuts and styling
- Do professional colouring and highlighting
- Carry out chemical straightening and other suitable hair treatments
- Shampoo, condition and prepare the scalp
- Style hair for formal occasions, events and professional sessions
- Do braiding and work with hair pieces when needed
- Make a personal style for each client
- Keep your technical work and presentation at a high standard
- Help create a friendly and cooperative salon
- Keep your workstation organised and hygienic
- Build good, professional relationships with clients and help them return, so you grow a loyal group of clients
Requirements & Eligibility
- Professional hairdressing experience and practical skills you can show
- Maximum of 5 years' industry experience
- Strong ability in cutting, colouring and styling
- Hands-on experience with highlighting and chemical treatments
- Confident with men's and women's haircuts
- Able to do event and occasion styling
- Good understanding of hair care and product advice
- Strong client consultation and communication abilities
- Able to work well in a team
- Committed to quality and attention to detail
- Flexible about working hours
- Reliable, punctual and professionally presented, and friendly and confident with customers
