Key Responsibilities
- Give high-quality hairdressing, barbering and beauty services in the area you know best
- Talk with clients about what they want and suggest the right services
- Cut and style men's and women's hair, including blow-drying and hair-up styles
- Do professional colouring: roots, global colour, foils, highlights and lowlights
- Do balayage, ombré, toning and colour correction
- Give keratin, nanoplasty, Hair Botox and other smoothing treatments if you are qualified
- Do straightening, perming and other chemical treatments if you are qualified
- Offer barbering and men's grooming where it applies
- Do threading, waxing, facials and other beauty treatments
- Do eyebrow and eyelash work, including extensions and tinting if you are qualified
- Suggest good professional products and home-care routines
- Keep strong hygiene and cleanliness, and follow workplace health and safety rules
- Give every client a warm and professional visit, and build long relationships
- Look professional and behave professionally at work
- Work well with salon team members in a busy place and keep learning new skills
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience preferred
- Relevant industry qualification and/or demonstrable professional salon experience
- Proven technical skill for the position you apply for
- Practical experience in modern hairdressing, barbering and/or beauty techniques
- Can show genuine hands-on experience in the industry
- Strong communication and client consultation skills, with excellent customer service
- Professional, reliable and well presented
- Can work alone and also work well with a team
- Strong commitment to quality, hygiene and professional standards
- Wants to grow a long-term career in the hair and beauty industry
- Can give evidence of relevant qualifications and professional experience when required
- Current New Zealand work rights or eligibility to obtain an appropriate work visa
