Do you install floors? A flooring team in Mackay, Queensland, needs two experienced Floor Layers. The team works on homes, shops, offices and new buildings. Carpet and vinyl installation are the main jobs.

Key Responsibilities
- Check the work area, take careful measurements and read the plans
- Work out which flooring materials are needed
- Take out old floor coverings and prepare the subfloor well
- Lay broadloom carpet with underlay, gripper, seaming and stretching
- Lay carpet tiles in homes and commercial sites
- Install luxury vinyl plank flooring
- Cut, fit and finish flooring neatly
- Fit trims, thresholds and edge finishes
- Repair and fix problems when needed
- Keep your workmanship at a high standard
- Keep your vehicles, tools and work areas tidy and safe, and follow Australian workplace safety and flooring installation requirements
- Work well with customers, builders and other trades
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Floor Layer
- Hands-on experience with broadloom carpet and/or vinyl plank
- Good understanding of subfloor preparation
- Able to measure accurately and work from plans
- Able to finish flooring installations to a professional standard
- A current driver's licence, held before you start
- A current construction White Card, held before you start
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Reliable and physically able to do flooring work
- Able to work alone and in an installation team
- Commercial sheet vinyl experience, including welding, coving and wall vinyl, is highly regarded
- Advanced floor preparation experience, and floating floor or engineered timber installation experience, are highly regarded
