Do you repair lifting platforms for a living? This job in Wellington, New Zealand, is for an experienced technician. You will find faults, service machines and fix them. Some days are in the workshop. Other days are at customer sites. The machines include scissor lifts, boom lifts and cherry pickers.

The position is permanent and full time. Sponsorship is available for suitably qualified overseas candidates with verified experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Find the cause of faults and repair Access/EWP equipment
  • Service and maintain scissor lifts, boom lifts, cherry pickers and similar machines
  • Do planned servicing and preventative maintenance
  • Visit customer sites to inspect and repair equipment, and do repair work in the workshop
  • Spot mechanical problems and suggest the right repair
  • Help customers and colleagues with technical questions
  • Keep clear records of servicing, inspections and repairs
  • Make sure machines meet safety and operating rules
  • Work well with different types of equipment and in different places
  • Speak politely and professionally with customers and co-workers
  • Keep learning about the company's range of equipment

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Trade qualification in Heavy Diesel, Mechanical Engineering, Machinery or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in finding, repairing and maintaining machinery faults
  • At least 2 years' direct experience with Access/EWP equipment
  • Demonstrable experience with petrol and diesel machinery
  • Strong mechanical diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Able to show proof of your qualifications and work experience
  • Full and valid driver's licence, and basic computer skills
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Able to work alone in field-service work
  • Care for workplace safety and professional standards
  • Eligible to work in New Zealand, or able to qualify for a suitable work visa
