This is a senior Farming Manager job in Perth, Western Australia. You will lead a large farming operation: cropping, pasture, fodder and irrigation. Planning and good results are very important in this role.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the farming operation across large agricultural properties
- Manage and develop farm supervisors, overseers and machinery operators
- Plan each season using production targets, available resources and farm conditions
- Oversee cropping, pasture, fodder and irrigation programs
- Oversee production of oats, barley, wheat, vetch and irrigated sorghum
- Manage the yearly budget, forecasts, spending and capital investment
- Follow farm productivity, crop performance, pasture results and running costs
- Work with agronomists to improve soil health, pasture and crops
- Plan fodder needs together with livestock and feed teams
- Study and start land improvement and productivity projects
- Lead capital projects that improve efficiency and long-term asset value
- Use precision agriculture, GPS and digital farm-management technology
- Use operational data for planning and decisions
- Care for the land with sustainable land management and soil improvement
- Plan the workforce and lead training, performance and development; build a safe culture with accountability and steady improvement
- Work with contractors, suppliers and service providers, talk clearly with farm teams and take responsibility for performance and financial results
Requirements & Eligibility
- Senior experience in farming or agricultural operations that you can show
- Proven record of managing cropping, livestock or mixed farming
- Strong practical knowledge of large agricultural production systems
- Understanding of agronomy, chemical use and weed control
- Experience with farm budgets, forecasting, production planning and cost management
- Strong knowledge of agricultural machinery and modern farming methods
- Experience with GPS, precision agriculture and digital farm-management systems
- Can lead and develop agricultural teams
- Strong commercial and operational decision-making skills
- A history of responsible farm management and results you can measure
- Strong skills in planning, communication and working with stakeholders
- Agriculture, Agribusiness or related tertiary qualification highly regarded
- ChemCert or equivalent qualification advantageous
- Current driver's licence required, and HR or MC licence advantageous
- Ability to meet applicable Australian employment and visa requirements
