Do you want to work with backup power and building control systems? This job in Sydney welcomes an Electrician or a Junior Electrician. You would work on commercial sites in New South Wales. The work includes generator testing, electrical upgrades, finding faults and control systems.
You will have engineering support, and you can learn new technical skills. The employer will look at your trade knowledge and your real work history, so be ready to show what you have done.

Key Responsibilities
- Service and repair the electrical parts of standby generators
- Do electrical work when generators are upgraded or changed
- Test generators and emergency power during building shutdowns
- Help with AFSS-related generator testing
- Find faults in generator controllers, PLCs and control circuits
- Test and fix Automatic Transfer Switches and switchgear
- Read electrical schematics and single-line diagrams
- Wire and test control systems, and help with telemetry and control applications
- Help commission generators and upgrade systems
- Look into technical problems and find practical answers
- Work alone when needed, and keep talking with your team and the engineers on specialist projects
- Join scheduled night and weekend works
Requirements & Eligibility
- Essential: a current NSW Electrical Licence
- Proven practical experience as an electrician
- A work history you can verify, showing real electrical skills
- Can read electrical schematics and single-line diagrams
- A strong hands-on way of working
- Confident with electrical tools and trade tools
- Can find the cause of problems and work towards practical answers
- Happy to work alone when needed
- Can work well in a small team
- Experience with generator controllers from Deep Sea, Cummins, CAT or Woodward is advantageous
- Interest in PLCs, control wiring, telemetry and standby power systems
- Full NSW Driver Licence required, and able to drive a manual vehicle
- Available for occasional night and weekend work
- Eligible applicants may be considered for visa sponsorship
