Key Responsibilities
- Build overhead electrical distribution lines
- Dress, stand and replace power poles
- Install and maintain overhead electrical lines and equipment
- String mains and conductors
- Build transmission lines
- Dress and erect transmission poles and H structures
- Help to build and erect towers
- Climb electrical transmission structures
- Complete conductor stringing work
- Read network drawings and line diagrams
- Inspect electrical transmission assets
- Find hazards and solve problems at work
- Do supporting and ancillary linework
- Operate crane or boring plant when you are authorised
- Follow safety and quality procedures
- Work well with crews and site teams
- Travel between project places when needed
- Take short assignments away from home sometimes
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven practical experience in overhead electrical work
- Experience in distribution or transmission linework
- Can show your technical skills and past work experience
- Construction White Card
- Driver’s licence
- Good problem-solving skills at work
- Reliable and works well in a team
- Can work safely when conditions change
- Ready to travel for projects and to do short-term away work
- Certificate III ESI in Transmission and Distribution Overhead preferred
- Work at Heights preferred
- CPR preferred
- Dogging preferred
- Rigging preferred
- High Risk Work Licence preferred
- Relevant overseas qualifications considered
- Ready to undertake further Australian-recognised training where required
