Key Responsibilities
- Do electrical servicing and repairs on commercial catering and foodservice equipment
- Find out why equipment failed and locate the electrical fault
- Follow a clear method to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems
- Use electrical test instruments to check parts and circuits
- Repair or replace broken electrical parts
- Do electrical wiring and equipment changes where your licence allows
- Go to customer premises for breakdown repairs and planned servicing
- Test equipment after repairs and check that it is safe to use
- Install and commission new commercial equipment
- Help customers and other service staff with technical questions
- Answer troubleshooting questions by telephone and email
- Help with warranty checks and service investigations
- Follow each service job from first diagnosis until it is finished
- Work with manufacturers and suppliers to solve technical problems
- Find and arrange the parts and components needed for repairs
- Help with equipment assembly and electrical preparation
- Keep clear records of service work, repairs and parts used
- Help in the workshop and warehouse when needed, and follow electrical safety rules and workplace procedures
Requirements & Eligibility
- Recognised electrical trade qualification
- Relevant electrical licence or eligibility to obtain the required licensing
- Proven practical experience in electrical fault finding and diagnostics
- Good understanding of electrical circuits, wiring, controls and components
- Demonstrated experience repairing and servicing electrical equipment
- Experience with commercial, industrial, appliance or electro-mechanical equipment
- Commercial kitchen or foodservice equipment experience is advantageous
- Can work on your own to diagnose and fix technical faults
- Previous field service or mobile technician experience is highly regarded
- Strong analytical skills and practical problem-solving
- Professional communication and customer service skills, and works well with technicians, contractors, suppliers and manufacturers
- Good at organising work and managing jobs
- Reliable, and careful about safety and quality
- Gas-related experience or licensing is advantageous
- Forklift experience or licence is advantageous
- Current Australian driver's licence or equivalent
- Can give genuine proof of your qualifications and relevant work experience
