Are you ready to lead a team in a busy venue? A licensed hospitality business in Darwin, Northern Territory, needs a Duty Manager. During your shifts you will be the senior contact person for staff and customers.
The work covers people, customer care, rules and money, and you will make decisions all through the shift. You will lead teams in food and beverage, gaming and functions. Visa sponsorship may be available to suitably qualified candidates, including eligible applicants who may qualify through an NT DAMA pathway, subject to all required approvals.

Key Responsibilities
- Be in charge of the whole venue during your rostered shifts
- Guide and support teams working in functions, gaming, and food and beverage
- Give daily tasks to staff and make sure the floor is covered
- Help plan rosters, and support training, development and performance management
- Keep customer service and venue presentation strong
- Make sure the venue meets responsible gambling, liquor, gaming, food safety and workplace safety requirements
- Run the opening and closing steps, and protect keys, security and restricted-access areas
- Check tills, floats, safe balances, cash handling and gaming transactions, then finish shift reconciliations and hand over the money accurately
- Handle customer complaints, solve operational or behaviour problems and respond well to security issues and incidents
- Support functions, entertainment and promotions
- Check stock, equipment, cleanliness and maintenance needs
- Write accurate shift, incident and operational reports
- Follow workplace policies, suggest improvements and keep the workplace safe, professional and positive
Requirements & Eligibility
- Relevant AQF Diploma-level qualification or equivalent, together with at least one year of relevant full-time-equivalent experience
- Or at least three years of relevant full-time-equivalent experience in hospitality, hotel or licensed-club management
- Experience leading and supervising hospitality staff, and past work in a licensed venue
- Knows gaming and licensed hospitality operations
- Strong experience with cash handling and reconciliation
- Understands venue security and operational controls
- Strong leader and team manager, with excellent customer-service and conflict-resolution skills
- Good written communication and reporting skills
- Holds a current NT Responsible Service of Alcohol certification
- Current Responsible Service of Gambling training, or willingness to finish the training required
- NT Gaming Machine Manager licence preferred, or willingness and eligibility to obtain the licence
- Free to work evening, weekend and public-holiday shifts
- Can meet the licensing, probity and employment requirements that apply
