Do you have bar experience and want to lead a team in New Zealand? A rooftop bar in the centre of Christchurch needs a Duty Manager. Guests enjoy sharing plates, seasonal food and full table service.
The job is permanent and full-time, with a minimum contract of 30 hours and rotating closing shifts. You will work evenings and weekends. Friday and Saturday evenings are non negotiable. You can start straight away. Sponsorship is available for the right candidate. The team is small and hard-working, and the business gives training to people who stay in the industry.

Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests when they arrive
- Take care of reservations
- Reply to customer questions
- Take orders, suggest extras and handle payments
- Guide the team and make sure customers are happy
- Be the person who handles functions
- Watch front of house costs and overheads against KPI's and targets
- Keep the front of house roster within KPI's and targets
- Teach front of house training sessions and keep the team culture positive
- Order stock
- Count stock every month
- Open and close the venue in the standard way
- Keep the workplace safe and healthy and follow every legal rule
- Help develop new menus (drinks, recipes, costings and marketing)
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum three years bar experience
- A friendly, welcoming and warm personality
- Wants to succeed and to grow
- Has made cocktails in a high volume venue
- Passion for the industry
- Positive attitude
- Valid LCQ and current Duty Managers Certificate
- Can work evenings and weekends; Friday and Saturday evenings are non negotiable
