You will support communication, confidence and independence in a safe and respectful way. Shifts are flexible, in the daytime and after school. Sponsorship is available for eligible international applicants who can demonstrate relevant experience, strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to disability support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Give reliable one-to-one support that fits the participant's needs and daily routine
  • Help the participant grow more independent through everyday activities
  • Support communication difficulties and sensory or behaviour needs
  • Use positive support methods and suitable redirection when it is needed
  • Read, understand and follow Behaviour Support Plans and care instructions
  • Notice changes in behaviour and respond with patience and professionalism
  • Join meaningful activities that build confidence and interest
  • Keep clear communication with the family, carers and other supporters
  • Write accurate shift notes, reports and other documents, and build a steady, respectful and trusting relationship with the participant

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in disability support or a similar care environment
  • Demonstrated experience supporting people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Experience with participants who need communication support and behaviour management
  • Can use established support strategies and care plans with confidence
  • Strong English skills, with clear communication in professional settings
  • A reliable way of working, a commitment to steady support for the participant, and a patient, understanding and kind attitude to disability care
  • Can work alone and also be a positive part of a support team
  • Relevant qualifications or practical disability support experience preferred
