This is a full-time Crusher Fitter job in Newcastle, New South Wales. The employer wants a Crusher Fitter / Boilermaker with strong hands-on skills in mechanical and hydraulic work. You will look after crushing, processing, quarry and mining equipment.
The job includes fault finding, repairs and servicing, in the workshop and at customer sites. Some sites are in the city, some in regional areas and some are remote. Sponsorship is available for suitable candidates, as long as they meet the required criteria.

Key Responsibilities
- Service and maintain crushing and processing equipment, both mobile and fixed
- Find equipment faults and decide what repairs are needed
- Do mechanical repairs, servicing and preventative maintenance
- Find hydraulic faults using schematics, manuals and technical information
- Test hydraulic pressure and flow
- Troubleshoot 12V and 24V electrical control systems
- Read electrical schematics and test voltage and continuity
- Do equipment inspections and pre-delivery preparation
- Follow OEM specifications and approved maintenance procedures
- Visit customer sites for equipment servicing and technical help, in city, regional and remote places
- Travel to regional sites when needed
- Write down the condition of equipment and suggest repair work
- Prepare technical service and condition reports, and keep correct records of inspections, repairs, settings and testing
- Take photos of completed maintenance and repair work
- Speak directly with customers about equipment problems and finished work
- Work safely in the workshop and in the field
Requirements & Eligibility
- A trade qualification in Fitting, Boilermaking or a similar mechanical trade
- At least 2 years of post-training industry experience
- Proven experience with quarry or mining fixed plant
- Relevant hands-on experience with crushing and processing equipment
- Clear mechanical maintenance and repair experience
- Practical knowledge of hydraulic systems and finding faults
- Can read and understand hydraulic schematics
- Can read and understand electrical schematics
- Can do basic electrical testing on 12V and 24V systems
- Can show and verify your past trade jobs and experience
- Full unrestricted C Class Driver’s Licence
- HR Licence is desirable
- Forklift Licence is desirable
- Physically able to do manual and field work
- Willing to work in city, regional and remote locations
- Able to pass a pre-employment medical and Drug and Alcohol screening
- Strong mechanical problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated and proactive
- Good communication and customer service skills, and professional with customers and site teams
