Do you love cooking and want to learn? A professional Italian kitchen in Sydney, New South Wales, is looking for a Cook or Chef. The kitchen cares most about your attitude, your hard work and your wish to learn. It does not only look at years on a CV. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook Italian dishes to the kitchen's standards
- Help prepare pasta, sauces and other traditional Italian food
- Do mise en place and the daily kitchen preparation
- Keep food quality, taste and presentation the same every time
- Follow recipes, cooking steps and instructions from senior chefs
- Work quickly and well in busy service
- Keep your workstation clean, tidy and hygienic
- Follow food safety and workplace health and safety requirements
- Help others in the kitchen team when needed
- Listen to feedback and use new techniques and procedures
- Be reliable and professional with a positive attitude, and help build a respectful and productive kitchen
Requirements & Eligibility
- Interest in, or experience of, commercial cooking
- A real passion for Italian cuisine
- A steady and reliable way of working
- A strong work ethic and a readiness to take responsibility
- You can follow instructions and learn from experienced chefs
- Practical kitchen skills that fit your level of experience
- Hospitality or kitchen experience from before is advantageous
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- You want to grow professionally in the Australian hospitality industry
- Candidates with entry-level through experienced backgrounds may be considered
- You can give genuine and verifiable information about your jobs or skills where required, and you must meet applicable Australian employment and visa requirements
