Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals using approved recipes and menu needs
- Make meals that fit each patient's diet and nutrition needs
- Plan food preparation for breakfast, lunch and dinner
- Keep food quality, look, consistency and portion size high
- Follow food safety, hygiene, infection control and kitchen safety rules
- Finish meals on time for production and service
- Check food storage and rotate stock
- Keep the kitchen clean and organised
- Work closely with the catering team for smooth meal service
- Adjust when work needs change, and still keep service standards high; help patients have a good experience with reliable food
Requirements & Eligibility
- You have worked as a Cook in commercial kitchens, healthcare, aged care, hospitality, or catering
- You know how to prepare and cook food in a commercial kitchen
- You understand food safety, hygiene, and safe handling of food
- You hold a relevant food handling or food safety qualification
- You can follow recipes, menus, dietary instructions, and workplace procedures every time
- You stay efficient in a busy kitchen and meet strict service deadlines
- You communicate well, work in a team and get along with people
- You can do rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays
- You are careful, professional and focused on quality; you care about patient wellbeing through good meals
