Key Responsibilities
- Look after your own kitchen section from prep to service
- Cook à la carte dishes and event food
- Prepare mise en place for the day
- Keep food quality, look and portion size the same each time
- Help at weddings, corporate events and private functions
- Adjust when service is quiet or busy
- Follow recipes and kitchen procedures
- Follow the food safety, hygiene and cleaning rules
- Check stock and rotate it
- Label, store and handle ingredients in the right way
- Waste less food by preparing carefully
- Keep your station clean, tidy and ready
- Talk clearly with chefs and kitchen staff, and help service run smoothly when it is busy
- Help junior team members, share what you know and take extra kitchen tasks that suit your experience
Requirements & Eligibility
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent recognised qualification
- Relevant commercial kitchen experience at Demi Chef, Chef de Partie or Sous Chef level
- You have moved up in responsibility in professional kitchens
- You can manage a designated section on your own
- You have cooked à la carte food
- You have prepared food for functions and events
- You keep standards steady during high-pressure service
- You know commercial food safety and hygiene practices
- Strong communication skills
- Strong teamwork skills
- Reliable attendance and professional work habits
- Strong work ethic and willingness to contribute to a team environment
- Availability to work weekends as required
- Current driver's licence
- Qualifications and employment history that are genuine and can be verified
- Appropriate evidence of previous culinary experience
