This Chef job is in Sydney, New South Wales. You will cook for residents in an aged-care kitchen. The job is permanent and full-time, from Sunday to Thursday.
You prepare healthy food, follow food safety rules and change dishes for residents with special diet or texture needs. If you know South American cuisine, the kitchen especially welcomes your application. You will work with kitchen and care staff and help plan menus.

Key Responsibilities
- Cook and prepare healthy meals for residents
- Keep food quality and presentation the same each day
- Change dishes to suit each resident's diet and texture needs
- Follow IDDSI requirements when you prepare modified meals
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards
- Work quickly and well when the kitchen is busy
- Work together with kitchen and care teams
- Help prepare and plan menus, making them more varied with culturally appropriate choices
- Check stock and help with ordering
- Control food costs and avoid waste
Requirements & Eligibility
- Commercial Chef experience
- Relevant cooking qualifications
- Strong interest in quality food preparation
- South American cuisine experience preferred
- Knowledge of Brazilian, Peruvian, Colombian, Argentinian or Chilean cuisine advantageous
- Experience in high-volume food production, and understanding of dietary requirements
- Strong food safety and hygiene practices
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Aged-care experience desirable
- IDDSI experience desirable
- Australian working rights or eligibility for sponsorship
