Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food to set quality standards
- Manage kitchen sections well during service
- Prepare ingredients and keep food preparation areas organised
- Keep food quality, presentation and portion control the same every time
- Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace safety procedures
- Help with stock control, deliveries and inventory
- Keep work areas clean, safe and organised
- Work together with kitchen and front-of-house teams
- Support less experienced team members when needed
- Greet customers and give polite service
- Take orders and serve food and drinks
- Help customers with questions about the menu
- Clear, clean and reset tables, and use the POS system for transactions
- Keep a welcoming dining room and help with other restaurant tasks when needed
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 1 year of commercial kitchen experience for Chef and Cook positions
- Experience with Asian cuisine
- Japanese cuisine experience is not required
- Relevant Australian qualifications are preferred
- Real employment experience that can be checked
- Can show practical skills for the position
- Good communication skills
- Good teamwork skills
- Reliable and professional at work
- Ready to learn the workplace procedures
- Wants a long-term career in hospitality
- Valid Australian work rights
- Currently residing in Australia
