Key Responsibilities
- Be responsible for the whole kitchen's performance
- Organise daily food preparation and kitchen work
- Lead and support your team during service
- Cook good meals across a wide commercial menu
- Make steaks and other main dishes well, every time
- Look at the menu and suggest better ideas
- Create new dinner, takeaway and dine-in dishes, and refresh the breakfast choices
- Keep food quality, look and portion size the same each time
- Prepare well for busy periods
- Watch inventory, order stock, and cut food waste
- Keep the kitchen work running smoothly and watch food safety, hygiene and cleanliness
- Help train and develop kitchen staff
- Work with management to improve the food business, and keep professional standards in every service
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated professional experience as a Chef
- Experience working in a busy commercial or high-volume kitchen
- Strong cooking and food preparation skills
- Proven ability to cook steaks to a high standard
- Experience with menu development or menu improvement
- Able to manage kitchen duties on your own
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills
- Able to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to food quality and consistency
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Able to work a rotating roster, and willing to live on-site as required
- Committed to workplace safety and food hygiene standards
- Relevant culinary qualification and/or strong equivalent industry experience
