This is a full-time Chef de Partie job in Sydney, Australia. You will look after one kitchen section. You prepare, cook and plate food, and you keep your standards high when the kitchen is busy.
The employer wants a chef who can show real kitchen experience. You will work with senior chefs, apprentices and the front-of-house team. Eligible candidates may be considered for visa sponsorship (an employer helping with a work visa) based on verified qualifications, experience, skills and employer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Be in charge of one kitchen section for preparation and service
- Set up mise en place each day for the service ahead
- Cook the menu dishes using good commercial cooking methods
- Check that food quality, portion size and plating stay the same every time
- Stay calm and quick when the kitchen is full
- Tell the senior chefs what your section needs
- Work as a team with chefs, apprentices and front-of-house staff
- Show apprentices simple kitchen tasks and the usual procedures
- Keep good personal hygiene and a clean work station
- Follow food safety, HACCP and workplace health and safety procedures
- Store food properly, rotate stock and keep the kitchen tidy
Requirements & Eligibility
- A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, or an equivalent qualification
- Minimum 2 years of real commercial kitchen experience
- Earlier work in a high-volume hospitality place
- Can run a kitchen section with little supervision
- Good practical cooking and knife skills
- Knows professional food preparation and service steps
- Can meet quality and presentation standards every time
- Your employment history and experience must be able to be checked
- Qualifications and supporting documents must be available when asked
- Good communication and teamwork
- A reliable, responsible and professional attitude
- Stays organised and calm in busy services
- Can work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays
- Full working rights in Australia and willingness to complete a 6-month probationary period
