Key Responsibilities
- Cook and prepare meals to the kitchen's standards
- Do daily food preparation and mise en place
- Prepare for lunch and dinner services
- Follow recipes so food is always the same quality
- Help with new menu and recipe ideas when needed
- Handle many cooking jobs at once during busy times
- Check food quality, how it looks and the portion size
- Keep your workstation clean, tidy and hygienic
- Use food safety and hygiene rules
- Work closely with the kitchen team during service
- Finish prep and cooking on time
- Change quickly when the service needs change
- Stay steady in a high-volume kitchen and help with general kitchen tasks
Requirements & Eligibility
- Professional experience as a Cook or Chef
- Proven commercial kitchen experience
- Experience in busy, high-volume hospitality places
- Can cook food of the same quality under pressure
- Good knowledge of cooking methods and food preparation
- Can follow recipes and kitchen procedures carefully
- Strong organisation and time management skills
- Dependable and professional at work
- Can communicate and work well with a kitchen team
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude and passion for food and hospitality
- Can work weekends, early mornings and late-night shifts when required
- Previous multi-venue hospitality experience is advantageous
- Relevant culinary qualifications and/or substantial industry experience
- Able to meet Australian employment and visa requirements that apply
- Ready to take part in the candidate verification and assessment process
