Are you a Chef with strong kitchen experience? A new restaurant in Brisbane, Queensland needs you. You will cook for the launch and help the kitchen team stay calm in busy hours.
You will also train younger kitchen staff and help to keep costs and waste low. The employer wants a reliable person who takes responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
- Cook menu items by the recipes and standards of the kitchen
- Keep taste, look and portion sizes the same for every plate
- Keep food preparation and service smooth and fast
- Lead kitchen activities in busy periods
- Help with new menu ideas and better recipes
- Supervise and train junior kitchen workers
- Follow food safety rules in every task
- Keep the kitchen clean and safe
- Check how much stock is used, see what to order, rotate stock and reduce waste
- Support cost control and good use of kitchen time and resources
- Talk clearly with the kitchen team and service staff
Requirements & Eligibility
- A cookery qualification related to the job is preferred
- At least 3 years of professional Chef experience
- Real hands-on work in a commercial kitchen
- Strong understanding of food preparation and cooking steps
- Knowledge of food safety and workplace health and safety rules
- Can manage many kitchen priorities at once
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, and a reliable, committed worker
- Can keep quality high when service is very busy
- Experience with Mexican cuisine is advantageous
- Able to go to interstate training when required
