Key Responsibilities
- Create menus
- Keep good food standards
- Manage food production
- Calculate food costs
- Manage staff and labour costs
- Follow the standards of senior management
- Meet kitchen targets (KPIs)
- Help hire new kitchen staff
- Train and guide new staff
- Communicate well with managers and staff
- Keep the kitchen clean and safe, with good hygiene
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar high-volume venue
- Cert III or Cert IV in Cookery
- A high degree of professionalism
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, with a focus on food quality and presentation
- Sound financial skills to manage kitchen costs
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership skills to manage a multi-faceted kitchen
- A hands-on leader who coaches and motivates the team
- An energetic and enthusiastic approach and proven problem-solving capability
- The ability to build and contribute to a team across the whole venue
