Key Responsibilities
- Cook dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner
- Make real fusion-style food and keep to the recipes and quality rules
- Get ingredients and cooking stations ready before service starts
- Check that knives, pans, scales and other tools are ready to use
- Look at recipes and change the ingredients or the method when needed
- Cook and plate meals quickly when the kitchen is busy
- Plan the daily kitchen tasks and give jobs to team members
- Help supervise and train other kitchen staff
- Tell front-of-house staff about the daily specials and other kitchen news
- Keep every plate looking nice, and change a meal when a customer asks, if it is reasonable
- Watch the food stock and see what is needed next, then help with ordering
- Check that food is fresh and good
- Remove old or unsuitable food by following food safety steps
- Keep the kitchen clean, safe and tidy, and use commercial cooking equipment safely
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven work experience as a Chef or Cook
- Minimum 2 years working in a kitchen
- Experience with fusion-style cuisine
- Strong knowledge of modern recipes and cooking techniques
- Practical experience using grills, fryers, ovens and commercial kitchen equipment
- Knowledge of baking and pastry techniques
- Can lead people and feels confident supervising kitchen staff
- Can manage many tasks at the same time in a fast-paced place, with good time management and organisation
- Good communication and teamwork
- Knows the rules for food hygiene and sanitation
- Keeps food quality and presentation at a high level
- Australian work rights, or eligibility for an appropriate sponsored visa
- Willingness to work in Western Australia
